Paint outside in the “Citée des Arts”, Vence, France. Matisse elected residence in Vence towards the end of his life and designed and built, LA CHAPELLE DU ROSAIRE. The light and rhythms of nature found between the mountains and sea of the French Riviera make it a perfect location to find the color and spirit of your painting. Learn to capture light and shadow; create a convincing sense of space depicting nature and architecture in harmony. The fundamentals of drawing, composition, value will be explored with artist Amy Jackson.

“Immersed in the elements of daily life, looking deep into everyday actions. Those spaces that absorb so much of our day but pass unexamined.  We will find joy in awakening to the life that surrounds us in the village of Vence.   The contemplation of nature and meditation on the landscape are central to our plein air painting workshop.  Capturing the instant... Diving into sparks of light and shadow, exploring natural and urban rhythms , painting outdoors alla prima! .”

Your host for the week will be Véronique Porterwho will offer daily yoga classes and accompany you to manifest a clear vision of your artistic path.
